18plus ‘You Are What You Eat’

Jesus was the ultimate model of intensive discipleship – every day for 3 years He was living, sharing, teaching, demonstrating, empowering and sending out.  We can’t hope to compete with that, but the heart of 18plus ‘You Are What You Eat’ is to pass on all that we have learnt over many years to equip 18plusers in their walk with God and for ministry. We’ve run this yearly course for 10 years now and this year felt there should be a stronger practical element; so as well as learning within a group environment, we’ll also be out-and-about putting it into practice.

Jesus calls us to bring the Kingdom of God to His people, so as well as the challenge of personal discipleship to ‘feed properly so that we grow spiritually’, we’ll be looking at how we can put Jesus’ commands into action in today’s world. The first session was an MOT on our spiritual DNA, checking our motivation, passion and the cost of following Jesus. The second session focussed on our destiny – to be fully restored to the image and likeness of God , his workmanship, to walk in the good  works that he has prepared for us to do  (Romans 8:29 and Eph 2:10). The group currently has around 12 members, so we can fit 2 or 3 more in if you are feeling inspired. We meet fortnightly on Fridays at 7.30pm – contact Linda Isgrove  if you’d like to join!
