Hi! I’m Miriam and have been coming to Riverside for the last 8 years. I moved onto the Pineapple estate 4 years ago and immediately God gave me a passion for the people living there. From starting with the neighbours’ kids coming for a Bible club in my house once a week, it was apparent that there was a need for something for the wider neighbourhood. In September 2008, we launched the Pineapple Kids club for 7-11 year olds, meeting at the Church of the Ascension on the Pineapple estate. There are about 14-20 largely non-churched kids that come along.
We meet 4-5.30 every wed excluding school holidays. It involves games, snacks, Bible stories and action songs…The kids love it and its really rewarding to be a part of it! To see some of the tougher kids from the estate, becoming kids again and joining in with the action songs is so exciting! We are in need of male leaders and would love you to get involved! You need no special skills… Just a large heart!
