EUROPEAN DEAF CHRISTIAN YOUTH WEEK August 2013

EUROPEAN DEAF CHRISTIAN YOUTH WEEK August 2013We had a really amazing & blessing time at the EDCY (European Deaf Christian Youth) Week held at Smallwood Manor. There were 100 Christian Deaf Youth aged between 18 and 35 from 13 different countries coming together, to learn more about God. The theme for the week: “Salt & Light of the World” and we  invited 5 guest speakers from the UK, Holland, Japan, Italy and Estonia.

As the EDCY Team raised over £10,500 to support this event which runs once every two years  in Europe and we are truly privilege to have this opportunity to organise this one in the UK.
Through the week, we had several activities: hired a swimming pool, trips to Drayton Manor Park, Abraham of Height, Hired Bikes, ‘Christian Deaf got Talent’, sport & game days, and much more!

One Deaf lady from Preston became a Christian and another couple from Holland got engaged too. We are truly thankfully to Riverside Church for supporting us to make this really happen! The next event will be  ‘EDCY 2015 in Italy’.
Please continue pray for them to be blessed and be able to raise their funds.
