Raw Nerve to perform “Popcorn and Lies”

This year Raw Nerve has an exciting new development, as the theatre group has received a grant from the ‘Awards for All’ scheme. We were granted just under £9,400 for a new project that we can offer to schools around Easter time for free. The show, called ‘Popcorn and Lies’, looks into the issue of anorexia and eating disorders, tackling the issue head-on in a thought provoking, creative and informative way. Raw Nerve hopes to work closely with local schools, helping better the programme and tailoring it to fit in with the schools needs. We will then follow the play with two weekly workshops that explore the theme further. We will be working in conjunction with the Birmingham Eating Disorders Unit based at the QE to help co-write the workshops and are looking forward to the massive impact this project is going to have in local Birmingham schools, and hopefully in neighbouring youth groups as well.
