Feedback from Kenya!

This was a very challenging trip in terms of pushing everyone out of their comfort zones. Each day we found ourselves being asked to do things we didn’t feel prepared for but, having taken the plunge, really enjoyed and felt God’s blessing on what we were doing. We worked with the ICY Kenya team (International Christian Youthwork), visiting and taking part in what they are involved with; running workshops with youth, children, teachers, women, students and leaders and introducing them to ELiJAH.

In one remote village we even helped to build a mud wall in Riverside Academy (a new Primary School named after our church!). A highlight was seeing 100 students from slums and villages across Kenya graduating after a year’s Missional Leadership course with ICY.

To see spiritual wealth in the midst of material poverty was humbling. We saw people healed, teenagers transformed and team members flourish. We were blessed to see many sides of Kenya, from the slums of Kibera to the rich diversity of Nakuru National Park, via tea plantations and rural villages, all with a uniquely African warm welcome.
