Having a baby changes in everything in life – from your social life, your lifestyle and your sleep patterns to your relationship with almost everyone you know! It can be nice for parents to know that they are not alone in the changes, and to be supported by others in similar situations.
Every couple of months there is an opportunity for mums of preschool children to meet together on a Tuesday evening. My heart for this evening is that mums will feel they belong to a supportive community that encourages one another to share their faith in God with their children at home. Feedback includes mums having appreciated the chance to pray together, be real about worries and concerns, and to “think about what it means to bring up a child in a Christian family… real practical ideas/habits to introduce into family life”. It’s also a chance to get to know others and “establish a connection that is more real than Sunday mornings”. We have covered using bible story books with little children, had some feedback on parenting books and talked through encouraging gratitude.
We tend to meet at Ali Beard’s home (122 Oxford Road, Moseley) from 8 – 9.30pm, and our next evening together is 27th March. Contact Kirsty if you would like to be part of this or a similar group meeting on a different night of the week.
