Pineapple Kids Club

Pineapple Kids Club has been running in Stirchley for the last 3½  years. We meet in the Church of the Ascension hall just off Pineapple Road on Wednesdays 4-5.30pm. The club is aimed at reaching the children from the surrounding area and presently all of them are within 10 minutes walking distance. We play games, do craft, messy games and teach the Bible in a fun and engaging way!

We consistently have about 10 children who love coming and can’t wait for the following week’s club! We flyer the kids the night before club to get a chance to meet parents and engage with children in their own environment. This in itself has been invaluable for building relationships!

Currently the club is led by Jenny Christie, Emma Keeling, Miriam Gaskell, Steven Worthington and Anne Roche, which is an amazing blessing but we are always looking for more volunteers particularly youth or students to be role models to these kids (many of whom are from broken families).

Wednesdays can be tiring but are always so rewarding! We are regularly faced with behavioural problems but have seen great improvement in many of the difficult behaviours. Two girls from the club have come to Roc Solid and are really engaging with God despite being from a non-churched background. It’s such a privilege to be part of their journey with God!

Praise points: The children continue to come and look forward to club each week and have started bringing along friends.
Jenny Christie joining the leaders team (coming from a primary teaching background, she is amazing with the children!)
Children with otherwise no Christian input, hearing about Jesus!
Prayer points: As always, more volunteers.
Behaviour to continue improving.
For the children to grow in their faith and get to know Jesus!
