The Hiding Place

This is a true story… and a truly remarkable story. It’s a story of profound hope in the middle of the darkest days. A story of humility, forgiveness and faithfulness in the face of the most brutal of times. The story follows the Ten Boom family as they seek to stay true to their faith against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Holland. Each day they faced betrayal and discovery as they tried to save others in danger, smuggling them safely out of the country.

Everyone in the company has been deeply impacted by how Corrie and her family walked a hideous road and yet retained their deep faith in God. We wanted to re-tell the story as simply as possible as we felt the power was in their simple, trusting approach.

We have stripped back the stage with the hope that nothing will distract you from the Ten Boom family’s journey through the war, through the invasion, through the concentration camps, through the persecution, through pain and suffering… and yet, this is a story full of light too. Fragments of light and hope that kept the family walking when life became almost unbearable.

Performances at 7.30pm on Thursday 27th, Friday 28th, and Saturday 29th October at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham.

Tickets £9, concessions £8. Book tickets online at www.crescent-theatre.co.uk or phone 0121 643 5858.
