We’re off to Uganda tomorrow!

Misson Uganda 2013Yesterday, a group of 8 young people and 5 leaders will be making their way to Kampala, Uganda. We’ll be leading holiday clubs for local children – looking at some of the amazing stories that Jesus told. We will also be working in Kairos school taking art, music, and sports lessons as well as giving our group opportunities to take assemblies. We will be hosted by Heather Davidson and her daughter Naomi. It will be a brilliant time of revisiting old fiends and making new ones.

For our second week we are off to Mbale (a 5-hour drive east of Kampala), hosted by the Jenga Project who work with local people bringing hope through education and agriculture. Our team will be visiting local projects, schools and orphanages which they support. We’ll be working hard, but want to be able to learn from the amazing people that we meet, our team-work, as well as from the Uganda culture, and ultimately allow God to teach us about His own character.

Please do pray for all the obvious things such as good health, great relationships with everyone and safe travel, but also that the communities and ourselves would be massively impacted by seeing God at work in both the seen and the unseen.

We would also like to say a massive THANK YOU for all your support in both giving practically and in prayer, we are all completely blown away by the amazing generosity of our church family and it is great to know that you have our backs in prayer. We would also like to thank Grantham Yorke Trust for the grant of £1,000 that was given this week, and praise God for £20,700 raised to make this trip happen. We will be sharing stories from our trip at Riverside House in September. Have a great summer! We’ll be back on Friday August 9th.
