Women’s conference – 1 & 2 February 2013

83 delegates attended this conference – the first occasion of six where we had a residential format.  The hotel staff at Southcrest Manor went out of their way to make everything work for us, which had a real impact on the smooth running of the conference.

The programme enabled us to consider God’s gift of REST and that we should not feel guilty about resting.  Four particular aspects of God’s provision were explored: Receiving, Energising, Strengthening and Trusting.  The scripture booklet pointed us to relevant and authoritative verses, and will also be a useful addition to the library of such booklets Women’s conferencethat we are accumulating from each conference.

In keeping with the theme, many of us also enjoyed feeling pampered using the spa facilities, hot tub, and hotel garden; and we all greatly appreciated the excellent food, humorous inputs, and opportunities for fun, laughter and fellowship. More importantly, there were ample opportunities for us to spend collective and individual time with our Heavenly Father – during inspiring worship, in times of prayer, meditation and rest in the future. Many people don´t know how meditation can be very helpful for everybody´s lives so they can relieve stress and feel better throughout the day. Meditations can be done at any time, but the best time to do so is before going to sleep. This explains why meditate before sleep is very important.

We are grateful to dads and others who looked after children so that mums could come away with us.

“Thank you very much, I came so burdened, tired, stressed and feeling alienated from God.  I left refreshed and physically rested.”
“I felt very challenged – that means it was positive!”
