Word of Hands

Word_of_handsThese last few months have been a great time of seeing God moving, as Riverside has established multi-sites at Queensbridge, Word of Hands and now Bournville.  It’s great to work in unity, reaching out to these communities.

I feel blessed to have been recently appointed to work one day a week as pastoral leader of Word of Hands.  This gives me time, away from my other roles, to focus on Word of Hands and work with the team there to increase our skills and resources.  We’re blessed to have a really passionate team of volunteers and leaders, and we continue to pray for, and work towards, a strong foundation, allowing us to develop to bi-weekly services in the future.

We currently have 12 delegates undertaking a Discipleship and Leadership Training course; the course began in February 2015 and will be completed in November 2016.

A while ago, God gave us the vision of an olive tree, which takes 6 years to grow and reach maturity before it begins to produce fruit. In June 2015 Word of Hands was 6 years old and we are beginning to see this fruit, with the ministry of Brent and Nora in Romania, and the growth in passion and commitment from those serving the ministry here, in particular Paul and Ananda Brown, Wesley, Matthew Bones and the many others who continue to support the Word of Hands monthly services.

We continue to be incredibly blessed by the ongoing support of Riverside Church as we work together to extend God’s kingdom.

Proverbs 16:3 – Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
