Pineapple Stay and Play

On Thursday mornings, a group of mums, dads and carers get together in a church hall on Pineapple Grove. We play, sing, make crafty stuff, read Bible stories, drink tea, eat healthy snacks (the children) and homemade cake (the adults… and mostly the children too!). In the middle of dolly pram disputes and glitter chaos, we also make friendships, support each other and help children to play in new ways.

This group has been really important for me. It’s given me the chance to develop supportive friendships with people who are experiencing the same challenges of day-to-day ‘mummying’. I can get out of the house when it’s pouring with rain and we’re all going berserk.

I’ve also been able to pray with people and offer a listening ear to people facing tough situations. And my children can be part of building a sense of community in our neighbourhood.

We aim to demonstrate God’s love in all we do and we would love to grow this group to reach more people on Pineapple/Dad’s Lane Estate, especially those facing particular hardships. Could you help us? We would particularly value volunteers who could be available to chat to, support and pray with those who come.
