Kapumpe Christian Primary School

Kapumpe Christian Primary SchoolRiverside’s mission work in ZAMBIA began in 1997 in Ndola in the Copperbelt. Numerous teams and individuals have worked in that area, based at KANIKI Bible College. Tim and Gemma Mills work there permanently and have launched a new ministry to local orphans and children at risk. Part of this provision is to build and run a good standard Primary School. The first phase of Kapumpe (it means ‘Eagles’) School is complete and opened in January with Year One children aged 5-6.  The school has two teachers from UK, but more are needed as the school grows and the building of Stage Two begins. Primary school teachers or classroom assistants who would like to take a year out or longer, should contact John and Grace Miles. For more project information and how you might help, see www.kaniki.org/kapumpe.

Kaniki Bible College is a wonderful place to serve God and Zambia is a very peaceful country. The curriculum is British-based and the school is already being applauded as the best in all Zambia! This could be your chance to make a real difference in the lives of these vulnerable children. Jesus said “Of such is the kingdom of heaven”. It could be the adventure of a lifetime!

For first-hand information from Riversiders who have worked at Kaniki you can speak to Rachel Pumphrey, Martyn Richie, or Katie Sales.
