Stay and Play at Riverside House

Do you look after children under 5? Did you know that we have a Stay and Play group at Riverside House on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 11.30am?

We have the usual activities – Lego, Playdough, cars, books and jigsaws, a home corner, a  climbing frame, a baby corner and lots more, then snacks and singing.  There’s plenty of room to run around in the large hall. Sometimes we get the parachute out or do painting or other art work!  In the summer we can play in the garden and we have a trip out—last year we went to Think Tank.

We aim to provide a safe, happy place for little ones to enjoy and learn, and for those looking after them to make friends and share joys and worries over fresh coffee and homemade cakes.

Would you like to help? We have a great team of volunteers, mostly working in the kitchen to prepare snacks for the children and adults. Most of the setting up and putting away is done by the group but we could do with extra help sometimes and someone to prepare and supervise craft work. It’s a really friendly atmosphere and very good for keeping you young if you don’t usually have contact with small children.
