Small groups are an important part of the church. They provide discipleship, fellowship, Bible teaching, prayer and worship in an intimate and welcoming environment in which people can make friends and grow in their faith in a way that can't be achieved in the large weekly services on Sundays.

Small groups meetings happen in homes around the area on various week nights and revolved around a basic structure of welcome, worship, word and world. The aims of the small groups are summarised in the core values:

  • everyone making disciples
  • everyone in ministry
  • everyone growing
  • caring community
  • Jesus at the centre

We welcome everyone who considers themselves a part of Riverside Church to join a small group. It is a unique place for growth, fellowship and accountability. If you would like to find out more about small groups please contact Harry Hewat (T: 0121 442 4484), or if you are in the 18-30 age group contact Andy Worthington.

Community groups bring together 2-3 small groups into a group of 15-30 people who meet twice monthly to worship, fellowship and do Bible teaching. The aim is to unite different groups and enable them to get to know each other and share what God has been doing in their groups.

The community expresses the heart of the church. It is a place where we belong as family and function as a body. It's a place where people can feel part of a family who love God and care for one another.

Community groups are firstly an excellent way to settle into the church family, secondly a place where you can contribute to the life of the church and its' service in the community, and thirdly a place to invite people who are new Christians or just wanting to find out more about our faith.
