Journey of Discipleship

Throughout the year, we offer three courses designed to help you grow in your relationship with God, deepen your understanding of the Christian faith, and strengthen your personal and community walk with Jesus. These courses focus on key areas of discipleship: following Jesus, exploring the Bible, and learning to pray.

These courses are open for you to sign up to as an individual or with your connect group. They can be taken in any order.

Following Jesus

Who is Jesus, what did He teach, and how do those teachings speak into our lives today? In a world that often feels busy, distracted, and increasingly secular, how can we meaningfully follow Jesus?

The Practicing the Way Course is an 8-week journey designed to help us explore these very questions. Through a blend of teaching, guided conversations, and simple spiritual practices, this course offers space to reflect, ask questions, and grow.

Together, we’ll look at the life and teachings of Jesus, and consider what it means to become His apprentice—not just in theory, but in the everyday realities of modern life.

Whether you’re just beginning to explore faith or looking to go deeper in your walk with Jesus, this course is a chance to build a strong, lasting foundation for following Him.

The Bible

The Bible can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. Where do you begin, how do you make sense of it all, and what’s it really about?

That’s where The Bible Course from The Bible Society comes in. Over the course of eight weeks, we’ll take a guided journey through the big story of the Bible. Together, we’ll explore who wrote it, how it came together, what Christians believe about it, and the different types of writing it contains.

As we move through the major sections of the Bible, we’ll look at the historical context, key themes, and important stories, all with the aim of seeing more clearly who God is, what His plans are, and how His love is revealed throughout.

Whether you’re completely new to the Bible or looking to understand it more deeply, this course is designed to help you find your way with confidence and clarity.

Prayer

What is prayer, and how do we actually do it? Many of us long to grow in our relationship with God, but aren’t always sure where to begin.

The Prayer Course is an 8-week journey that explores the heart of prayer: what it is, the different ways we can pray, and how to make it a natural, life-giving part of our everyday lives.

Each session offers practical teaching, space for honest conversation, and opportunities to try out different prayer practices, all designed to help us grow deeper in our connection with God.

Whether prayer is new to you, or you’re simply looking to refresh your spiritual life, this course is a gentle and encouraging place to start.
